Dance Research Studio hosts a number of evening classes led by locally based practitioners. It is an ideal space for dance and holistic practices, including Yoga, Tribal Belly Dance, Kathak, Meditation, Alexander Technique and Tai Chi. DRS is always looking to extend its programme of community classes and welcome enquiries from new teachers.

At Pilates with Lucy we work with men and women who want to improve their strength and stability, ease back pain, become more flexible and understand their mind and body better through functional movement. We give you the tools so that even when you’re not with us on the mat, you know how your body should move to be at its optimum. Floor Barre with Arijana

Saturday mornings:
10:00am-11:00am

Floor Barre is a full-body workout that gives you all the benefits from a classic barre session except that all exercises are performed on the mat. If you want to improve your overall fitness, posture, coordination and flexibility, floor barre might be just for you. With an extended abs session based on classic Pilates and dynamic balletic floor exercises will get your legs, tummy and booty in shape. Afterwards, you’ll be taken into some well deserved deep stretches, to lengthen any tight muscles. I teach it because I believe in it, and know from experience that it works. I am level 3 Pilates qualified (HFE) as well as barre teacher certified (BarreConcept) with a passion for funky tunes whilst feeling the burn.

Interested in running a short course or workshop?

Throughout the year DRS hosts a variety of special short courses and workshops delivered by guest teachers in various techniques and approaches. These activities compliment the core professional development activities at DRS which includes TIP, SDIPT and ARP programmes. DRS welcomes approaches from experienced practitioner/tutors who are interested in running short courses or workshops in: somatic practice, holistic techniques and performance/theatre training.
